Bridging The Gaps is a collaborative initiative between multiple organizations. We are pulling together while also focusing on different aspects of the current crisis in Western North Carolina. Donate Funds
The People’s Place is leading the next phase of the Bridging the Gaps, which will continue to take a relational approach to help local communities organize to gain access to resources for long-term recovery and to advocate effectively for their own needs, particularly for their most marginalized members.
OURavl is focused on identifying both short and long-term support needs for local communities. They are currently raising funds to support community engagement around the current crisis, while also developing the potential to organize and advocate for community members who have already lost their jobs or homes, as well as those at risk of losing them.
The YMI Cultural Center served as our primary site in the immediate aftermath of the storm to receive and store supplies for distribution to those most in need. We are deeply grateful for their support.
